Default Traeger vs. Smith and Wesson

Just thought I'd let you all know since I just recently found out. Joes has an ad out for the Smith and Wesson grill that is basically the same thing as a Traeger Lil' Tex. There is no real difference between the two units except the marketing on them. The grills have now been discontinued from production and are no longer available. What is on hand is being sold and when it's gone it's gone.

I have always had a practice of offering the best price available to Ifishers and this puts me in a difficult position. The Smith and Wesson grills are a cheaper cost grill and since I can't get them anylonger I can't compete with what Joes is doing. That having been said, I would loose money if I matched the Traeger with their Smith and Wesson sale and that would be before I made a donation to Ifish.

Result, I can match their price with the Traeger units which come with a much better cover and all the accessories. If I do this though, since you are getting a better deal you have to agree to make a donation to Ifish with me. I usually donate myself but since I will be going out of pocket on this one I would be asking for you to help out.

The sale goes through the 26th of this month and I'm guessing it's while quantities last since they don't make them any longer. I will match their prices until then.

As always, feel free to ask any questions should you have them.

Ron.

I had no idea that Smith and Wesson made a grill, so I just assumed that the more widely-known Smith and Wesson products would smoke things faster than a Traeger.

I have a S&W "44mag" Traeger that works great and has all the features I want. No problemo.

Iwish. that's awfully generous. my wife and i saw the smith and wesson deal and were tempted to jump on it. I've seen used traegers going for the same price. what size donation are you thinking?

Joe C, PM Sent.

Since Traeger made the Smith and Wesson you won't see any difference. The units are all the same except for the logo on the grill/accessories. Ironically, the grills were cheaper but they had to sell the "Smith & Wesson" branded pellets for more because they had to pay royalties I guess. So you would save money in the beginning but if you wanted S&W accessories you would end up paying more in the long run.

I think Joes had the unit advertised for $549.99. I glanced at the ad online.
