The Clackamas blew last Saturday...been running "brown and high". It's dropping, but stil high and just now starting to "turn". The guage has supposedly been fixed.

I'm hoping to hit it Thursday...MAYBE tomorrow.

Hope that helped.

Oh yeah...the N F Lewis sounded like it might have been good, too.

Other rivers, folks??

Mark

Satsop, Wynoochee, Chehalis and Skokomish are all blown, and will remain that way for a while.

Get ready guys....with the rain taking a few days off, the east and north forks of the Lewis will be very good.

The Sandy is consitantly kicking out fish. Water color is very good. Should be outstanding the next several days.At least several fish seen on the bank every day.

three rivers is high and muddy, looked to be dropping slightly but still has at least a day or two to go (don't tell that to the fifteen or so fishless souls there today).

nestucca has at least a week of no rain before it's anywhere near fishable, running at 8.9 and very muddy right now.

little nestucca will be ok in a few days, but has very few fish and they're all wild.

salmon river running high and outside its banks with mud.

kilchis looking good (green) but very high as well.

trask has three days of no rain before it turns back to green.

ditto for wilson.

the central/northcentral coast just isn't worth it right now, save your time/gas. maybe by friday if the rains hold off.

Marky-sharky I called down there 12-18-2001 they said water was high and a little off color, that recording was for monday. I'm thinking it's going to be pretty good the next couple of days  the counts in the holding pond sound pretty gooood! I'm going to try to get down there friday.
If you go down there before I love to hear what you have to say?
Thanks F E

Bub:

The Alsea is currently 9.25ft. This is still too high for the N. Fork to fish well. I am going over this afternoon to check out the conditions. Should be below 9ft. by then. I feel it fishes best right around 7ft. I think that either Friday or Saturday will be the day.

I'll keep you posted.

Hooked four, landed three on Eagle Creek yesterday up around the hatchery gorge, which looks like Bosnia, by the way. I always feel like I'm hiking into the war zone there. The water was fairly high, but fishable with a little weight modification.

I saw alot of cars fishing down low below Eagle Fern. Any reports?

Caught more fish on the Clack. yesterday. Hooked a total of 14 fish, landed 6, kept one. I wasn't the only one, either. Water is still high and off color but fishable.

I was down below Eagle Fern at the ladder for a little while in the late morning. Saw one fish for probably 10 fishermen. This was around 11:00 when I got there though. Surprisingly lots of people. Water was high and moving, but vis was okay and it should continue to fish. Just need to modify your technique some.

HT and William, the fish you're talking about are all steelhead right? Or are silvers still getting caught up there?

Fished the Alsea below the hatchery today. Two chromers! A buck and a hen. They must have shot up durring the high water. Don't think I've seen such dark red meat on a fish so close to the hatchery before.

Yup, all steelhead. I can't believe any of you guys are taking advatage of this. The fish are stacked in there like cord wood. Fished at the dam this morning by myself and had the best day so far, 19 fish. Only one other guy and he didn't stay long.  Heading for the coast tomorrow or Fri. rivers are dropping and little rainfall, it should be slam action.
