Match me! A fish Christmas!
OK, Here is the deal Lucille...
I am giving 25.00 to the charity of my choice (s).
Can you match me?
Simply send a check for 25.00 written out to the charity of your choice, or to ifish.net, with a note as to which one it goes to, and I will mail it on...
You can always just send it in to your charity direct too.
But the challenge is there. I'm doing it!
Let's make a difference this year for our fisheries!
Make SURE you let me know which one it goes to.
My choices:
1.TILLAMOOK ANGLERS
Tillamook Anglers Corporation (STEP) 7510 Trask River Road, Tillamook, OR 97141 (503) 842-6519
2. NW Steelheaders
3. Dream Casters
Feel free to suggest your favorite fishy charity.
I am holding my checks till next Monday.
Please join me in supporting our fisheries.

Jen,
Mine is already on its way. You know what I intended it for, but you are free to do what you want with it.

Re: Match me! A fish Christmas!
My check to Tillamook Angler's for $25 is in the mail. I get so much pleasure fishing over the fall fish! This group has helped make my autumns such a dream time ... a time of anticipation and planning and so much fishing! Where would this fishery be without their actions? I don't know ... and I'm not ready to find out!

Re: Match me! A fish Christmas!
You can give to whomever you like. It's Christmas!
Of course, giving to yourself is a good deal too!
Treat yourself this Christmas! We all need to be treated! Even if it is only a day on the river, alone, or a cup of coffee spent by yourself, counting your blessings...
You know, even with all the tough times, I bet if you sat down and thought about it, we all have MANY things to be thankful for! Despite the challenges in the world, despite financial woes, Despite sorrows...
If you look around us, we are some pretty lucky people.
Jen

Re: Match me! A fish Christmas!
Jenny,
My donations have been going to Fish First. Fish First was started by Gary Loomis in 1995 in an effort to help restore the salmon and steelhead populations in southern Washington rivers. They are located in Woodland, Washington, and have been instrumental in restoring habitat and working with the hatcheries on the Lewis River and its tributaries. The members of Fish First are very dedicated to cutting through the politics and getting projects done like building fish friendly culverts (that work) and restoring spawning beds. So far their efforts are starting to show a very positive impact on the Lewis River. (They are involved with more than just the Lewis River, but that is the one I am the most familiar with). They have become a well-respected organization by the City, County, and State agencies that they work with due to their professionalism, innovation, and results.
If you fish the southern Washington rivers, then you should consider helping Fish First. Volunteer work would also be greatly appreciated. There are a lot of great opportunities to help with the hatchery programs, or to help turn barren tributaries into productive habitat for wild fish, and to meet some great people with years of fishing knowledge. It is amazing how much a little bit of your time can accomplish.
If you want to learn more about Fish First see www.fishfirst.org.
