Ok when you get off the water from a hard days fishing what is your favorite Pizza restaurant. I would Say Amalfis and American Dream since they are close by my house. ALso have to say Giuseppe's out in Gresham.

If I have to buy it, Pizzacata ... but I much prefer to make it myself. Pick up some pre-made dough, roll it out, brush it with olive oil and put it on the BBQ grill. Then I flip it over, throw on some sauce, whatever else and cheese and it is great! At least as fast as any restaurant and way better!

I have to agree with Marty on Giuseppe's in Gresham. Also Flying Pie on 72nd & Stark.

Westside, Nonna's, Ernesto's, or Giovanni's in Beaverton are all good.

Is there bad pizza?

Mrdorkfish I grew up three blocks from Amalfis, I love the pizza there and like you said I have never had a bad one and have been eating them for a long time. This thread made me hungry so I had to have American dream tonight  flying pie is good also and it is also close to home.

The best pizza I have had is in a little italian pizza place in downtown Wheeler. I do not remember the name of it but the pizza was the best I have eaten in many a year. It is the only pizza place in Wheeler so you can't miss.

Gosh I wish they had delivery to Forest Grove. Jennie what is the place's name?

For you Pizza lovers, Flying Pie is building a new store in Gresham. It is being built near the Goodwill store on Burnside and Main Street in Gresham. Best of luck to Ty in his new endeaver. For those in Southwest there is another Flying Pie out near Lake Oswego.

I have to vote for Giuseppe's in Gresham also. Don't just limit yourselve's to Pizza. They make a fantastic Calazone (sp).

For Southern Oregon-Roseburg in particular, Its got to be Abby's Pizza. Pepperoni thin crust.

Nona Emilias in Aloha, by far the best, order one of their pizza's and you can feed a boat load of fishermen and still have left overs. Those pizza's must weigh 37 lbs.

What constitutes a great pizza? Is it heavenly taste or toppings piled high and so thick that they drip and ooze? My vote for heavenly taste would be PIZZICATO. Unfortunately,if I just sniff a pizza I gain several pounds! I have to speed past PIZZICATOS. I haven't heard anyone mention Smokeys in Orchards. That used to be the rage for us on weekends. We used to go to Vancouver just for their pizza and beer. It's hard to beat the local cuisine these days.

Another vote for Flying Pie. There's one in SW ?? I'll be checking that out.

Giovanni's too -- used to go to the one by McLaughlin & Tacoma, 'til it turned into a @@ bar or an overpass or something.

Mostly Round Table, though ... which is "not bad"

- oh there's a good one in Astoria, forgot the name, they have beer, I remember

It was called "Old Town Pizza".
The one where you could eat upstairs or down? Wasn't it by La Patissere, (Cant's spell that!) and Jazz D'opus?
I don't know if it is still there, but that used to be REALLY good!

I don't want to Pizza bash, but I wasn't impressed wiht Old Town Pizza. Although it could have been all the cigarette smoke. Its been two years, but at the time they still allowed cigarettes inside.

Lets see,,,, whats the Lewis flowing at........Yep, still too high.

For an old-school NYC style pie, my vote goes to HOT LIPS Pizza (the PSU location is convenient on its 6th St. location).

My "most-good-pie-for-the-money" award goes to Rocco's on Burnside - across from Powell's Books. (Two of their large pies is enough material to shingle a small house.)

While on the coast, the pie at Pelican Brew Pub, Cape Kiwanda is passable.

A post awhile back pondered "is there bad pizza?" Most DEFINITELY and it's that flavorless swill they serve at Banks shopping center pizza place, there on Hwy6.

Phish_on,
Flying Pie inin Lake Oswego is located at 3 Monroe Parkway. Basically on Boonesferry between Terwilliger and Cruise Way.Located in Oswego Town Square shopping mall 503-675-7377. Same owner runs this shop as the one on SE Stark. Same great pizza.

I'll second the Fultanos in Astoria or Clatskanie, love the crust. Fultanos used to be be part of the Pizza Vendor chain. The one in Warrenton closed awhile back but there is still one in Scappoose that's building is identical to Fultanos in Astoria. Their recipe's must all be still the same because the Pizza tastes almost identical at all three places.

Remember....they're is no such thing as bad pizza??

If your in Cabo and get the need for a pizza try Mama Roma's over on the marina. One of the best thin crust pizzas you can get and it is in Mexico. we usually spend 10-14 days down there when we go so we eat here at least twice a trip. Can't get any better than that great food and a great location. All these great places I am getting hungry again. Glad it is lunch time.
