Re: Fishing log question
I started a log once, but gave it up rather quickly. At the time my two main rivers were the Salmon(sandy river), and Eagle Creek(Clackamas). It didn't take long to realize that all of my fish came from the same spots on the same gear time and time again, almost regardless of weather, time of day, etc... Of course, I do have a trick or two that help me catch fish under "special" conditions, but generally speaking, at that time in my life anyway, i knew the water I fished so well that I could literally walk from spot to spot hooking fish, often right out from under the noses of guys who had been pounding a particular spot for hours. However, since then my life has changed considerably, and so have the rivers I like to fish. Since I dont get out as much as I used to I imagine it would be productive to keep a journal. When you only get out occasionally its hard to learn the water as well as i used to know it, therefore it would be good to have a record of past experiences that would allow you to forecast when and where you are most likely to catch fish and then plan your trips accordingly.
