Default Wanted!! One Drift Boat Captain

I need to learn the ropes and atr of drift boats.. Any help? Books are great but you need real experience to actually learn.. I will furnish the boat truck and gear if need be.. I just want to learn how the boat handles and how to operate it. I wanted to go on the Flotilla but I am now partnerless (something about work on the weekend), and I am not to sure if you can drift boat by yourself and fish...I know my dog would go with me but she cant set the darn hook..

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Joe

Talons, Where is home? I've got lots of experience behind the oars and would be happy to teach you the ropes. Drop me an email and let's toss around some ideas.

Hi Talons,
Like what Hookset said, You can also drop me an email also and we can see what's the time frame of gettting you out there and maybe fish a little if conditions permit. Otherwise fast water may not be all that fun. Rivers are coming down at this point, so maybe Sunday might be safe. And don't worry, I got plenty of experince behind the sticks. I'm not afraid of going down anything either. But I still pack a fresh clean of Undies. (jk)

Well lets go when yo are ready. I have 3 fish on seats and the one rope seat for rowing. If we crash o well (Fear No Rock) Just no sinking or fliping. I used to commercial Salmon fish on a 22' dory and go in and out of the surf. There was a few times I had to row the dory back in through the surf because the motor broke. I do not think that counts as ever rowing a drift boat. I will provide every thing except your clean underware. I appreciate your help

Nothing like a skilled person teaching you on the river. Some "homework" info perhaps too.

Mark - you always have a driftboat. It's at my house, anytime you need it.
