Re: New to I-fish
Hello there!
Sounds like you are outfitted well. I have a 16' fishrite drift boat and just love it.
Been out on the river much this year in the D.B.?
Good luck in the future,
Kevin

Re: New to I-fish
Welcome!
I like how everyone seems so friendly lately.
Makes me happy, happy!
Have fun, and I'm the first down the Wilson when it clears!

Re: New to I-fish
welcome to you from a bank fisherman (except when friends call). I know you will like this bunch of fishing fiends. They spread all their secret places and methods, well some anyway. Good fishing.

Re: New to I-fish
Welcome 24/48, my uncle's were firefighters and I know how strong the bond is between you guys.
I also fish from a fishrite DB, except when I go backwards down the rapids, then it's a ritefish..LOL!
Good luck to ya, check out the search feature for anything you can think of in a fishermans book.

New to I-fish
Greetings all,
I am 100% new guy here. Looks like a bunch of great people here on the boards. Glad to be amongst followers of the church of steelhead.
A bit about me: I have been fighting steelies since age five, when I landed my first one on the Kalama. I was "hooked"! Since then, I have developed a passion for not only winter steelhead, but summer runs, flyfishing for big fat redsides on the Deschutes and Spring/Fall chinook. I own a vcabin on the Wilson and spend many evenings there during the winter in anticipation of a bent rod the following day.
I work full-time as a firefighter/paramedic and also as a part-time police officer.
I have a 17' fish-rite driftboat and an 18 foot pleasure/fishing boat for the Columbia/ Willamette and Tillamook bay.
Finally, can someone turn off the rain, please? I need to drift the Wilson! LOL
Just call me,
--spud--

Re: New to I-fish
welcome 24/48. knew when I saw that moniker you were a FF. Not a better job for a fisherman. Who do you work for? Not looking good for getting the rain turned off, it is really supposed to start coming down tonight and tomorrow. I sure need to get my Drift boat out also. Take it easy. Firedog

Re: New to I-fish
Hey friends,
Thanks for all the great welcomes! At this very moment, the Wilson is at 8.85 and on its way up. :depressed:
I guess I'll rearrange the tackle box...again. *sigh*

Re: New to I-fish
Welcome aboard, Spud. As everyone has attested already, you are logged into the "premier" fishing website. Jenny (our gracious hostess) continues to provide us with this meeting place, which you'll find will help replace the hot thumb you can't attain due to high water! Add the greatest bunch of folks you can ask for and you can't beat the result! Enjoy and have fun!

Re: New to I-fish
Welcome aboard!
Reserve me a spot on that cot also. Just kiddin'
I've found this board to be a very friendly, informative place to spend some quality time.
Happy fishing to all. When the rains stop we'll be smiling. There is a real positive to all this rain here in WA, and that is that there is no netting going on and that bodes well for the returns to come. But as I am not a duck or a mud scupper, I am ready for a reprieve. Quick check of the stream data says it isn't over yet...rivers are still rising.
