Default Wagontire Area

Without giving away your best hunting spot for buck deer, will a few of you guys give me some general location that I might find a buck this coming season. I want to take my 10 year old granddaughter on her first deer hunt (tag along) and at least would like to give her a chance to see some deer. Does anyone know whether there is gas down there? I have a couple of buck points and maybe I will draw. Thank you. Tony

My trips to that area were predator and pronghorn hunting and, frankly, I don't recall a particular area where we encountered buck deer. I do know there's fuel (and, very nice folks) at Riley. I don't think I recall there being any at Wagontire and I'm, not really familiar with points to the S, W or E of there. Looking at the map, Riley may be it. But, you've come to the right place - - someone will be able to help more. Don

find the highest ridges with mahogany thickets away from any roads, find bitter bush and water. you will not see many deer, but there are some if you work your boots.
