I can remember one year back in the day when the charter boat was out trying to bulldoze some of the ice off the lake on Memorial Day weekend. Hopefully it'll be open earlier than that this spring. We usually did really well right after ice-off and this should be a banner season for big bows. Just as soon miss that infamous midge hatch though!

Dullhook,

I use to fish it every year on memorial weekend, my dad for years use to go the weekend before memorial day with some of his friends, i know that we have had some good snow storms when ive been there but never a problem with the lake being ice free by then. I think i did hear something about that charter doing that not sure though, i agree should be an awesome year, probably in june or july ill be reserving my cabin for 2009 memorial day weekend, and get back to my tradition of relaxing and doing some great trout fishing, my family really enjoys it too.

My family and I will be up there this memorial weekend. I'll probably go the right after the lake ice's off.

If you dont have something reserved already for memorial day weekend you are SOL, my buddy called and reserved a motel for the weekend before memorial day and asked about memorial weekend and they where about all full except for a few units that was a week ago. I use to always make my reservations for the following year for memorial day when i checked out on monday, a year in advance.
