Hey there. I've fished the Ana river twice and think it's definitely worthwhile. Unfortunately I live in Portland so it's pretty far away, otherwise I would fish it more. Anyway, it's fairly narrow...about as wide as a traffic lane on the freeway. The water is clear, the flow is relatively slow and constant (i.e. not much fluctuation). The Ana is not real scenic, it sort of looks like a ditch flowing thru the sagebrush. One of the times I fished it was in the fall. There was a blue wing olive hatch and the dry fly action was good. The fish were 12 - 14" and pretty eager to take dry flies. The other time I fished it was the spring and unfortunately on that day, I saw no hatch...actually I didn't spot any fish. Anyway, this is my experience, I certainly don't consider myself an expert on the Ana but I've seen enough of it to know that I'll end up fishing it again. Take care.
