Default FoxPro Call Selection?

I am thinking about getting a Scorpion. My only concern is if the volume is adequate. I really like the compactness and light weight. I would mostly be using it for targeting bear and cougar.

Where is the best place to buy FoxPro (price).

I would go straight to FoxPro and get it. that way you can choose the sounds you want instead of just getting what you get. If you dont mind what the sounds are you can also get one from their forum classifieds section

And a friend of mine just bought a scorpion at the sportsman show and he said the volume is more then adequate

I went with the Scorpion because of its size. There were some comments that it's not as loud as the FX, but the consensus seemed to be that the external auxillary speaker more than made up for the volume difference, so I got that too. The volume should be more than adequate unless you're calling in a really strong wind, in which case you're probably not out calling anyway for other reasons.

I'd also recommend going directly to FoxPro so you could pick exactly which 100 sounds you want, instead of settling for a generic 100 noises that somebody else picked.

What's Rusty say?

I love my Scorpion, but it does not have all the volume I would like for calling bears so I take along a hand call.

I would suggest purchasing directly from FP as other have mentioned.

As for sounds. For bear and cougar I would suggest getting all the deer distress sounds plus the antelope and goat distress. Also you will want all the cow and calf elk sounds. Also check the jack rabbit sounds.

Timely thread. I just got the FX-5, can't take it out til the weekend but I did try it out at work. Man that thing is loud! I definitely need to add some more sound files to it. Keep the advice coming.....
