Default Back from my Idaho/Wyoming road trip.

Just got back from my road trip to Idaho/Wyoming. Actually, the trip was to move my son(Quackhead) and his wife to Idaho/Wyoming. Yep, that's right Idaho/Wyoming.
Here is a pic of the view from his new place out to the Idaho side.

Here is the pic out toward the front of the house into Wyoming.

The middle of the road they live on is literally the border of the two states, hence the name, State Line Rd.
It was a marathon driving event that will pay dividends later down the road. I now have a scout or forward observer in both Idaho and Wyoming "prime" hunting areas.
It is still snowing there. As you can see from the pics, and the three foot snow, their spring has not sprung yet.
There is a water hole that cuts through their pasture and there were ducks and geese both using it.
There are elk, muley, moose, antelop, bear, cougar and tons of birds and fishing with in driving distance. Actually, you can walk to most all of the above since the valley is ringed by US forests.
I can't wait to get the low down and start hunting the area with him.

I am thinking Freedom maybe? The hills to the west sure look like those on the west side of Star Valley!

I was right. Freedom Wyoming! Some interesting history there! I am from Star Valley! So just for those interested, there is a reason that road rests right on the state line. Back when poligamy was first outlawed by the country, many members of the Morman church could just step across the street and avoid the sheriff. Just a little trivia.

Great hunting there. Both in Idaho and Wyoming. It looks to me that the house is on the Wyoming side of the street making them Wyoming residents. Watch for wolves in the area. We heard some just maybe twenty miles from there.

I don't know where it is and i really don't care...unless i get to move there. That has got to be one heck of a place to live for the sportsman.

He's going to be an Electrician in Jackson Hole Wyoming. The visitors station(at the elk feeding grounds) in Jackson Hole has a sign that states this is the highest snowfall in recorded history this year. I believe it showed 608" so far and it has snowed almost everyday since we were there so it's getting higher as I write.

Tracker, they are considered(for mailing purposes) in Freedom because that is the nearest Post office. Their house sits in Idaho and faces Wyoming. The Picture facing Idaho doesn't do much justice because it is too close to the base of the hill.

Bingo! Stones throw, you can see Etna out the front window of his place. When my son gets better established, I'm sure you'll get to see more pictures of your home stomping grounds. The elk are all in the valley refuges and even the moose have come down to the valley with the long winter.

Jeremy, you're right it does look similar to just outside Driggs on their State Line road but, the road there runs closer to the base of the Tetons as I remember. We spent a week over there when my son was married in "06". Driggs had great fishing, right there in town. That was the same trip my sister caught West Nile Virus.
