Default ATV owners beware

Just picked up my ATV in for warantee work at Vordell Motor Sports in Scappoose.
Went in thinking it wasn't going to cost a dime end up at almost $200 out of pocket.

I was actually told these things I can't believe some of them.

Oil system flush (Reason oil level was too high) $30
Fuel system Flush $40
Grunge spray down a little too much dirt on the bike $40
Battery system check $30 (This was after they replaced the battery and I told them it was brand new from Les Swabb and to just take out their new one and I'd get les to replace it) New battery was less than this check!
On top of that was labor rates.

Reason for going in was bad fuel (water) and ME changing the way the fule system was hooked up to get us back to civization I by[passed the vacuum pump and did gravity feed.

I recommned no one do business with these guys they will take advantage of you. It went in for warantee work the rest I could have easily done myself.

I am Dan Neal and I approve of this post.

I feel for ya Dan, I've ridden bikes my whole life, and taking a bike or atv in to
a dealer is never good, It almost always is a major shocker! Kinda like your warranty stuff is a shocker!

I feel for you as well but I have to disagree on one point as not all dealers are that way.

I took my quad into Freds Honda in Corvallis for an oil change and warrenty work and they were awsome!!! The only thing they charged me for was the oil and filter. No labor charges, cleaning charges, etc. Quad was pretty caked in mud when I took it in but they did not say a word and it came back sparkleing clean.

Just wondering did you buy the ATV there? I thought all they had were used Bikes?

Bought ours at Columbia river honda and have always been treated fair there.

I always try and let anyone who is doing anykind of service for me to call me to get a go ahead signiture from me before doing any kind of work that is going to be out of pocket costs, and make sure they write it on the work order that way you have something to go back on when they try to pull something like that.

I would tell them that you are not going to pay for anything out of pocket that was not authorized by you, I don't know the law but hey, That stinks !!!!

I agree they took advantage of you but how do you equate bad fuel to being a warranty issue?

I would not have have paid them for any of the work that was not authorized by you. My next action would be small claims court unless you didn't read the fine print.................
