Question Spring Turkey question

I've been feeding a flock of 12-8 turkeys all winter at my bird feeding station. Latey 4 toms have joined them. The toms all have between 1" -4" beards. We started with one old hen and her chicks. Wife says it's cooler to watch them and buy one at the supermarket for $4.

What should I do.....take smaller one???? Listen to the wife???? Let them reproduce and grow for another year????

When is their breeding done?

it is illegal to hunt game birds over a baited area in oregon. male turkeys with 1-4" beards are jakes, not toms.

thanks for the corrections...mind answering the questions??? I can & do read the synopsis....Which states that it must have some beard showing too.....Sorry I don't know the turkey verbage.

I believe that I could find them away from the feeding station....I DO have several hundered acres I have permission to hunt...I know where they roost..

P.S. I don't shoot the deer under my apple trees either

Stopp feeding them and call one in, that is legal. $4 store purchased turkey full of salt, hormones and antibiotics or an honest healthy, drug free bird? BW - with the price of feed where can you get a $4 Turkey? Thin out the flock.

I agree with Brian. Stop feeding and call it away from the area. And you'll get more next year anyway.

Call it a "Curriculum Day" leave for Tuesday, the 15th! My old Principal owed me a favor one year...and he gave the day to me!!!!!!

LOL

I would enjoy watching them around your house and go hunt some other birds. I think that would be more rewarding......but if you want to swim upstream against the wife, thats your business....
