gun safes???
My wife says it's time to start looking for a gun safe as the kid is getting a little older and then nieces and nephews are to that mischievous age. I've looked at the Bighorn brand and was curious if anyone has one that they would be willing to share their thoughts on. Thanks in advance. I was looking at the 600ML model.

Re: gun safes???
There's one at the employee owned store with interior hinges hold prob. 14 guns cost was reasonable. Sink/anchor it into some cement. Dial, couldn't see the lock bolts it was closed.

Re: gun safes???
I just purchased a Liberty 25 gun & LOVE it! I can send you the info if you want. Great guy delivered it the next day even though it was after 9:30 PM.

Re: gun safes???
I just bought the 600ML Bighorn safe and love it. IMO it's by far the best bang for your buck if you're looking for a safe that size. If you need a local dealer let me know and I'll PM you the guys name.

How about some tips on moving the safe once you get it?

If your moving the safe across carpet, put 1x2's or something solid down where the wheels will travel prior to moving your handtruck across your floor with 750lbs on it so it doesn't pull the carpet in one direction, if not you may end up with loose carpet and wrinkles.

Depending on the weight of the safe you can use several pieces of Sch80 pvc pipe, delrin rods, or golf balls as rollers. Just don't even think about using golf balls on a tile or hardwood floor.
Mine weighs 2600lbs so I opted for professionals and they made it look easy with their pallet jack and speciality tools.

Re: gun safes???
Depending upon the weight you can use closet dowels as rollers. Use 2'X 8' plywood on the floor if you are worried about damaging the flooring material. It worked for the Egyptians and it works for moving safes around. Cut them to the width of the safe and roll away, putting the one that comes out back in the front and turning the safe or going in a different direction by angling the dowels as needed.

Re: gun safes???
Another suggestion besides the good ones already given............
On mine, I can take out parts of the door and /or possibly the racks inside making the total weight of the safe to be moved, much lighter. This might be a possibility for you as well.

Re: gun safes???
If you get a Browning you can take the door off because they have external hinges. Some people will say this is a bad thing but even if they are cut off you can't open the door. Mine weighs about 850 pounds but with the door removed it was a lot easier to move!
