Default Blacktail Addition

I have wanted one of these ever since I laid my hands on my friend Bobs Blacktail long bow. They are just a great piece of art. Although I really like the looks of a long bow, I bought the recurve, because I seem to be more accurate with a recurve and the price on this was right. I also bought a 40lb Bear Kodiak Magnum, so I can get my form down with a lower weight and learn the ins and outs of traditional shooting. The Blacktail should be at about 46 to 48lbs with my draw length. It is 64" and 52lbs. at 30" draw. The guy I bought it from said it is 46lbs. at 28" draw length.

Thanks to Santiam for mentioning Tradgang.com

I don't have it yet, but I sent payment today, so hopefully by this time next week it will be here.

Beautiful bow. That makes archery hunting truly an art form.

I am just starting with the traditional bows. It takes a lot of practice and dedication to use one. If I get into it, and I think I am a high percentage shooter than I'll try and hunt with it.

I will start with turkeys first.

Awesome bow Paul. You'll have to let me know how much $ that set you back. I have a few stick bows but "I NEED" one of those BlackTails.....

You are doing the right thing by going with a 40lb. bow to work on form. It will increase your accuracy so much without fighting all of the poundage. I wish I would have done that from the start.......

Great looking bow!

PAUL! Way to pull the trigger! You will never look back- you're ruined! I am hoping I can fight off the urge for a few more years- I need to gain some confidence, first. Beautiful bow and it will probably be like fly fishing where any fish is so much more fun and rewarding compared to "gear". Congrats and great job.

You're gonna love shooting that bow. There's something about the trad gear that's very appealing.

Very cool...It won't be long and you won't be able to remember where your compound is...
