Default Help from the bankies

I've only been fishing for salmon for a few years. Most of the time it is with a buddy of mine that has a boat. A boat is something I do not have, regardless of what most think from my name. Would love some advice on fishing from the bank. Live near Sellwood Park. Is the dock there a decent spot to fish? If not, where are some good spots? Not looking for someone to give away there honey hole. Also, what are some good set ups for these areas? Have done some waded around fishing for Steelhead, but have no clue on how to go after the Springers. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Willie - the docks in Sellwood at the end of Tacoma street has some snag issues or least that was the case a couple years ago. Used to dive around there as wellan discovered when they were building the bridge they threw all the unwanted things over the side Ibeams and other structural steel. Also before Tacoma was blcked off it was a great place to loose a car to collect insurance money. I would not eat a crawdad or any other fish that resided there only salmon or steelhead that pass through.

Best going to OC or CR beaches.

Crabbait:

Thanks for the notice. I'm one of those annoying folks that does a lot of reading and not much posting. I'm trying to be a sponge and learn as much as I can. Look forward to the day that I know enough to answer some questions and give some guidance on the board.

Have made some posts in regards to cooking the catch. Not too bad once I get them to the kitchen. Trying to get enough skill to catch more.

If anyone is looking for tips on how to go after duck or quail in the midwest, or how to catch a catfish or bass out of pond on a hot day in Kansas I'm your man. Unfortunately, I'm still working on my salmon skills. So far a couple Chinook, one Coho, and four Steelhead. Would love to add to that total this season.
