Jennie...Kilchis?
Jennie, Did you get a chance to see the river before it got dark? Thinking about fishing it tomorrow?

Re: Jennie...Kilchis?
Fishable color, extremely high and too strong.
Hard to fish.

Jen, are you trying to steer people away from the Kilchis?

Re: Jennie...Kilchis?
Seriously, How about Sunday ? Some moron ran over my power pole, so I don't have any electricity, and my laptop is running low on power. I haven't been able to access any river levels or watch tv. I am on someone else's machine now, on my way to a party, but I'm tryin to fish in the morning. If the Kilchis is nice and you want people to stay away that's fine , I won't bring anyone with me

Re: Jennie...Kilchis?
The Kilchis river is lower than most, but still pretty high with a lot of heavy flow.
Unfortunately, what happens, is that when all the rivers are blown, everyone sends everyone here, and it makes an unpleasantly overcrowded fishery for all.
It is a small stream, with considerably few good "pockets".
I wouldn't recommend to anyone fishing the Kilchis on a weekend like this. I fish to get away from it all. I don't fish to get involved in a combat zone.
I would much rather, if I had the weekend off from work, go someplace where you can get away from it all. I can't even say you'd have a better chance at getting a fish here, given the heavy pressure.
I think everyone should fish the Kilchis. It is a beautiful area. Pristine and awesome.
But if all you can see is an aluminum hatch from bend to bend, you would be missing the whole effect.
You can always access the Kilchis Canyon Weather Station off the front page for rain amounts. I have .70 for the day today.
I hope you all fish the Kilchis. Just fish it on a day when you can enjoy it!
Jen

The Coos County rivers are in great shape aren't they? Or maybe the Umpqua?

Re: Jennie...Kilchis?
Hi Jen,
I know what you mean about the crowds, I just miss fishin at the coast. Those hatchery steelies from there are just the tastiest  You are definately lucky people to live right there.
I do enjoy the Kilchis as well as other N. Coast streams, it just seems that so many other weekend warriors do too. I just hope my vacation days at the end of the month aren't the same as everyone elses
Good fishing to everyone, I think I'll stick around here
