Re: Jennie...Calendar Contest?
Yes, there was.
I didn't know it would be that controversial, but I will give them out.
Melinda just wrote that they are on the way.
I am a little skittish about it now, I must admit.
I like to think of myself as a Christian too, and perhaps I didn't use the best judgement.
I guess I just didn't think through it, and I'm inconsistent! But... women are inconsistent, right?
I do apologize for offending anyone.

Re: Jennie...Calendar Contest?
If you just want to give them away, I'd be happy to make a home for one of those calendars. Got a spot over my desk in the bedroom begging for some nice looking waders.....
I have no issues with nice calendars.

Oh geez, do I feel foolish.

Jennie, when you gonna have a collander contest, I could really use one.

Re: Jennie...Calendar Contest?
Don't get me started on risque collanders. The things can surely drain a noodle though.
I find this calendar offensive mainly in part that it's one big lie...lol I haven't seen any of these chicks out fishing. And I'm sure I'm like most here (yeah right); when I go out fishing, I go to escape the scantily clad women. Geez, next thing you know, they'll be putting women's bathroom stalls next to the men's at the boat launches. Why can't women just be happy with the power and the money? Why must they attack fishing?

Re: Jennie...Calendar Contest?
Jenny,
My wife is totally fine with these calenders, so if you would send one to us that would be great. My wife wants to know where to get the Cowboys in Chaps calenders, LOL !!! I would be OK with her having one of those calenders as well, if they were available.

Re: Jennie...Calendar Contest?
Jen, I am a Christian too and find the calendar not to be offensive at all. Don't be afraid to do what you want with them. I respect my wife plenty but that does not mean I am dead. God made women to look at, value, respect and cherrish. Oh yeah... and have a heck of a lot of fun with. We are exposed to a lot more worse stuff than that every day of our lives.
As Christians we are not supposed to let things into our lives that cause us to stumble in our committment to Christ our Lord. If the calander offends us then simply don't get one. Boys appreciate the beauty of women and women appreciate the handsomeness of a man (unless you are a pretty boy )
Let every person be the judge of what he or she is committed to. And folks, no matter what religious beliefs or non beliefs you have try not to shell others. Its just not cool. FM2 Just keep standing up for what you believe in and you will continued to be respected by at least me on this board. Hopefully, you would not judge me if I got one of those calendars. My wife saw them and ask if I wanted one. Yes dear, that would be a nice gift. If she were opposed I would give it to my son. He is single (9 yrs).
Peace and beauty this Chirstmas Season1

Re: Jennie...Calendar Contest?
I am not going to just give them out. You have to work for them!
Actually, I'll do some trivia q's from their site.
Oh man, I'll be in big trouble then...
Oh well, not the first time.
I believe in God, and he loves me!

Re: Jennie...Calendar Contest?
Trying to think ahead...these are answers to POSSIBLE trivia questions:
1) Yes, they are real.
2) Drooling over collanders is not wrong.
3) No, those pictures are not real as they dont appear to be "cold" enough.
4) I'd still choose my wife over those women.
Were any of those on the list?? Need my address now?!?

When we strive to avoid offending those who are the most easily offended, life can get pretty bland.
In other words, no matter what you do, you will manage to offend someone, somewhere.

Slab, I take offense to your being offended by the offense of others, and I am deeply offended beyond offensible definition of offense. And what exactly do you mean when you refer to people as "someone"????

Re: Jennie...Calendar Contest?
Is this iwish.net or ifish.net. I hope this site maintains the standards that got it to this level. I know I come here for awesome fishing info and try to share whenever I can. I believe many other people do too, not only the ones who post but also the "how many others that visit this site from wherever".
Going fishing tomorrow with another ifisher, hopefully we can have some pics of a productive fishing day. Also going to try out some of the experimental scents and methods and if they are productive, stay tuned because I don't keep secrets.

Re: Jennie...Calendar Contest?
Here's an idea...
I am in the printing business. We can make our own Ifish calendar. We can all contribute picts we've taken, have a vote on which ones get used...have it ready for 2003. I can find business willing to contribute, and all proceeds can go to the good cause of our choice (or Jennie's choice).
What do you think?

Bajaspecial,
I too am in the Printing Business. I run a 20"x29"
Heilelberg 6-Color, w/Coater. I am sure my employer would give us a really great price for printing Calenders. We also have a full In-House Digital Prep. Dept.

Re: Jennie...Calendar Contest?
******....Tracy "Fishchaser" wears bibs! Watch out Tracy!
FM2....If Christians don't respond to things that interest them sexually? How do you folks get interested in reproducing? Just a question....not trying to provoke ...
I think for most of us it starts off when a man see's a lady that he would like to ___________! The blank can be filled in with whatever you want....maybe he just wants to give her a big hug.....(Christian)....I don't know maybe something more than a hug!(The rest of us) I don't understand why this is a big tabooooooooo to talk about or why it offends anyone. Why all the denial for something that has been around since before......I don't know but its been around for a little while!
I guess I am just a "**** ". Works for me!
Jen...Send me a calendar!!!!

Re: Jennie...Calendar Contest?
As a new member of this board, and a lady, I have two things to say.
1. ******, thank you for the post, I have ordered the book.
2. Jen, don't apologize for the calendar, it's rather tame, nothing is showing. Especially when you think it is directed at the male reader, and we both know what they think of most of the time. Whats it called in fishing lingo, spawning!
I like this board, glad I finally decided to make my first post. I plan to investigate three rivers at some point in the future.

Jen could you please hold a calender back for my duck club? We are all between 55 and 70 years of age and the calender might put a little spring in our step as we go out to the blinds in the morning.

Re: Jennie...Calendar Contest?
Interesting there is an add in a local fishing magazine for this very calendar. The add states:

quote:
features tastefully photographed scenes that will warm the hearts of anglers everywhere. Women in waders is guaranteed to bring a year of enjoyment.

What is the enjoyment meant to be....hummm! I don't see any product being sold which the pic shows a drift boat with 2 fishermen and a lady scantily clad. I guess the enjoyment is in whatever lie a person wants to believe in. This calendar does have a purpose, to sell to the tolerant mass and induce thought provoking ideas of what "anglers" would like to see hanging wherever. I guess I'm a "fisherman" and not an "angler" who believes in moral purity and to be a positive light in a dark world.

Re: Jennie...Calendar Contest?
The enjoyment I would get out of it is seeing an attractive woman. Same as every other man.
I would enjoy seeing what evolution has created, others would enjoy seeing whatever greater power they believe in created.
Didn't know there was a difference between anglers and fishermen.

Re: Jennie...Calendar Contest?
Okay I was gonna stay out of this but I cant help myself.
I man named brad henning came to our school and gave a rather good speech on abstinence. He also said that it is a fact of life that every male thinks about spawning at least 2 to 3 times an hour and it cant be helped.
Also, FM2
I go with this phrase. If you dont like it, Dont look at it.
It really gets on my nerves when people try to censor everyone else. Like with tv, people say. Oh thats to violent that shouldnt be on tv. I say if you dont like it dont watch it.
So the moral of the story is. FM2 if you dont like the calendar. Dont BUY IT. No sense in pushing your views on everyone else
Dustin

Re: Jennie...Calendar Contest?
I think the MOST important thing to ask here is how the women that posed for the calendar feel about their efforts. I am sure the they are proud of the calendars so if they do not feel degraded then why should ANYONE else feel so!
I will bet those women are proud to be blessed with beauty and being able to share it with others. If you read their bios it appears they are very interesting people also. Some of you should be ashamed for making them feel like their art is wrong!

Re: Jennie...Calendar Contest?
Enough already.
No one should be ashamed of their feelings.
What would a fishing forum be without different feelings?
Let's move on!
