Default Stealth Boat Revisited

Many of you have seen the stealth boat running the Columbia or Willamette in the Portland area. While searching some other related boat information, I stumbled on this pic. It's sure similar to the one that's been seen locally. Apparently it's a Navy Seal Boat. I have no idea where this pic was taken. But I found it on this web site: http://www.globalsecurity.org/milita...ship/boats.htm

I saw it in Rainier a few weeks ago. Has the US navy taken possession of the boat yet, or is the builder still doing trials?

If the navy still doesn't own the boat, how is it legal to be operating on the water without any sort of identifying markings?

Those are the rules WE have to live by, not them. By the way, it appears that if you go to the link provided, there is some kind of netting across the bow. Obviously hiding some configuration.

Kind of like the motorcycle I used to have, you have to catch it to ticket it.

If you look closely you can see the trip permit in the back window.

Here is a photo from a couple years ago. I have not seen the boat everyone is talking about rescently. This boat is made in Vancouver. This boat was not made for the US Military.

I was watching a History channel program on modern day Pirates. They showed a freighter at sea and behind it I got about a one half second glimpse of one that looked exactly like the craft we were seeing out of Chinook Landing a couple of years ago. It does appear that this would be a good use for this in the ocean because i lays so low in the water.

Saw it out by the Gorge and took this video until some guy came up to us and told us we weren't allowed to film it.

...so, of course, I continued to film it.

You are kidding, right? A boat in the wide open public view expects privacy? I think that "guy" needs to read-up on the law. If you are in the public domain, you are free to be filmed/taped/photographed.

Sheesh.

We took a boat from Helsinki to Leningrad (St. Petersberg) , an announcement came over the ships public address system not to film the islands with military installations on the port side. Immediately everyone went to that side with cameras just clicking away. My thoughts were that the islands on the starboard side probably was where the secret stuff really was.

That's just so, I don't know, anti-establishment.
