What is this gun

I have this old rifle and know nothing about it. All it says is R.M.A.C. A22W
Patent pending made in the USA 1750 and it is only 34 inches long. Looks to be like a cap and ball of some sort. You turn the block on top and insert a ball and the back side of the block appears you place some sort of a cap. Any one have any idea? the bore is smaller than a standard 22.

THANK YOU STICK FISH!!!!! I would never have found out other wise. Never have shot this gun and doubt I ever will. Took it in trade on a 250 elsinore. Allowed my brother $10.00
