The original STEP proposal for Steelhead says release dates of 4/30/02 12 fish per pound, 25,000 at Tree Rivers, 25,000 in the Nestucca.

The fall Chinook program (Rhodes pond) says 10 fish per pound released in Three Rivers and in the Nestucca at the first bridge.

cureless,

If you're asking about the recently approved Steelhead program then, 25,000 fish will be released into Three Rivers then, the remaining 25,000 will be distributed into the Nestucca at Farmer Creek, First Bridge and Fourth Bridge.

There are no hatchery plants done above Fourth Bridge leaving the upper-river a spawning sanctuary for wild fish. However, there is plenty of wild fish spawning occuring from Fourth Bridge down into the lower river as well.

It looks like right now, we will start collecting our first fish in February.

WOW
50,000 SMOLTS MEANS THAT WITH EXCELENT OCEAN CONDITIONS WE COULD HAVE AS MANY AS 1,000 HATCHERY STEELHEAD RETURN OVER A 3-5 MONTH PERIOD.
