!!! ANOTHER VIRUS !!!!!

There is another NEW virus circulating, if you receive an email from someone you know and it has an attachment saying "I saw this picture and thought of you" DON'T OPEN IT, DELETE IT. If you have opened it here is a link to remove it.

This virus is similiar to the recent BadTrans which was circulating last week. This one is gone.scr and just came out. Affects outlook and will send this to all addresses in your book. We have up to date software here and our IA is on top of this. He is receiving many warning each day of new virus so he gives good advice "If you are not expecting an email with an attachment don't open it even if it is from someone you know"

We rec'd the follow message from our IT dept. todayTo all computer users:

If you are not expecting an email attachment, double check by phone before you open it.

The latest computer virus comes with a cheerful message about a screen saver from someone who has you on their email list. This person is in a "harry." The evil attachment is gone.scr. DO NOT CLICK ON IT! Call someone at the Information Technology department.

W32.Goner.A@mm can cause the loss of files. It is a mass mailing worm so it will travel like wildfire once started. If you do start this attachment you will get an "About" window with Pentagone at the top.
The safest course is to disconnect your network cable and call the IT department. The virus can do more damage when the computer is rebooted.
Other businesses in our area have already been attacked by this virus.

Another suggestion is to save any attachments to a file on your hard drive, that way if you do get a virus the network will not in most cases be affected, only your computer.

There will be many virus this time of year especially after 9.11 so try to be really cautious of email. The BadTrans email would activate just upon opening the email so if in doubt, call the sender.

There are many disturbed people in today's world, so sad as it sounds, it's hard to trust any human.
