Adjustable wigglers?
I am not much of a plug fisherman, I just hardly ever use them.
A question for you guys & gals that do pull the wigglers? David Johnson recently made a post about using different plugs for different conditions ie) depth, water clarity, current etc... A box of plugs gets quite expensive to have all the colors and sizes and shapes.
Do any of you pluggers (That is a less than ideal term to call somebody ) feel there is a market for a plug with an adjustable bill. A plug with a bill that was adjustable in the field.
Maybe a plug that had a bill that the slope of the bill could be set on a couple different settings. Maybe 2 or 3 settings for getting the plug deeper or shallow as hole to hole changed on the river.
Or is it just as easy to let more or less line out to adjust the depth?

Re: Adjustable wigglers?
Hi Bait O' Eggs,
I want one with adjustable colors if you find any. I have a box of them and still resort to using bait when possible. The last trip I did, I loaned a friend a wiggle wart and he managed to catch a sucker fish of all things. At least he caught something that day. I think it would be cost preventative(is that a word?)to produce such an item.

Re: Adjustable wigglers?
BOE, good question and sounds intriguing. Sounds like it would be something tough to design into a mold but you might want to contact a manufacturer to discuss this, of course you might have to give up all rights to your million dollar idea
A couple of questions come to mind, the size of the plug itself and the type of plug. For steelhead I use one size and for salmon I use another. Some plugs like kwik-fish don't really have a bill like a hot shot or wart so it would be a little more difficult to have an adjustment.
Good luck, I have been working on a scent releasing system for plugs and as soon as I can get out to try my design I will post the result and even pictures.

Re: Adjustable wigglers?
With The IFISH logo in the groin area. ya ya ya
and autographed by the board moderator?
would be worn with pride.
to address the question for real. Willie lures make a plug with multiple loops on the bill . they are in a row so in theory the closer to the plug the deeper it divers. they seem to work for catching peoples wallet, but kinda slow on the fish. I fell for a couple and they do look good in the box.
Wanna borrowed it sometime ,,, no problem

Re: Adjustable wigglers?
I would rather see a steelhead plug which had a soft plastic wiggling tail!

Re: Adjustable wigglers?
Roy: a plug like u suggested has already been made. I believe they were called hot lips. They had a large bill that u could heat with a lighter and bend to adjust how deep they would dive.
giz...

Re: Adjustable wigglers?
Plunker I think they make lures that have the hard front and lips but the tail is soft and wiggly. I think they are made by Castaic Castaic craw
