Default Thanks, David Johnson!

Over the last few days David has posted some really helpful, detailed discussions about things that have made him successful as a guide; how and where he fishes and selection of plugs. Many guides are somewhat tight lipped about the things that make them successful. David's willingness to share this information is much appreciated. If you haven't checked it out .. take a look at what he's written! Thanks David!

Thanks Pete,

It's all a product of cabin fever as I sit around waiting to fish.

I just got done tying up about 70 hooks. In the last few days I ordered 500 cheaters, 750 yrds of line, 6 bottles of scent, I've bought hundreds of swivels and hooks from local tackle shops....next it's making slinkies (I hate making slinkies)I guess this rain is good for something, getting all geared up and ready to go.

I got busted

My wife read this post and busted me, she's the one that makes my slinkies.

I agree David. You are a class act, bananas and all. If I do anchor out of the way on the Clack somewhere, you will just have to go around me though.

******,

On top of that, he let's his clients "EAT" bananas IN his boat AND.....Uses this crazy lookin' Chiquita-Fish Lure

As an "added" attraction, he'll gobble down some raw steelhead eggs if you coerce him enough!

Scott,

You're letting my secret out of the bag. (In order to catch fish you have to eat like one)

Hope David provides something good to wash down the Sandshrimp-Banana splits! I'll keep catching em' without eating the bait, thank you.

The only thing I hate more than making slinkies is BUYING them in packages of 2 or 3 when I forget them. My 12 yr old daughter loves making them though.

David
Raw Steelhead eggs??? Not a safe thing to do. Parasites, nasty bacteria and other nasties. Thats cool that your wife makes your slinkies, not my favorite thing to do either. Looks like this is the week for fishing; cold front on the way.

Thanks David for all your support both on and off the board.

David is a real asset to this board from his fishing knowledge to his involvement with fishing issues. He certainly has a team spirit which separates him from other guides.

You and your family have a safe and Happy Holiday Season !

Dave is absolutely a class act. He's not giving away any secrets, just good sound fishing advice.

The things I've learned from him could have been found on this board or elsewhere, but catching fish while learning is a plus.

Im pretty comfortable with my basic skills now, but Ill still book trips w/ Johnson to learn rivers (and let someone else row).

There are alot of decent guides out there. I was on the Wilson recently anchored up in one of the most productive holes on the river. Chris Vetropolous drifted by with a client and actually gave me advice on how to fish the hole and to adjust my dropper length.
