Default Where are the Parent Pity Party Songs?

Why is it that most of the modern music is written to reflect how misunderstood youth are and how they've been hurt and are lonely and blah blah blah blah.....???

Who's writing the music for the parents? I wanna hear some "my kids a whiny, self centered, egotistical spoiled brat" music with a touch of "we've raised this kids from birth and given them everything they needed and much of what they wanted and once they hit those teenage years, they treat us like crap" tunes. Come on, who write OUR music? Maybe this is an untapped market?

True, but sometimes they need a swift kick in the rear as much as the love.

"I used to be with "it", but then they changed what "it" was. Now, what I'm with isn't it, and what's "it" seems weird and scary to me." -Grampa Simpson

Remember this quote, it will get you through many hard times. You are not alone. Welcome to Oldsville. The music here is the sweet silence of hearing loss. The gentle hum of tinnitis.

I am not so old that I can't appreciate some music being made today (Cold Play, Interpol, the Killers, etc.) but the vast majority just seems bad. And to get the good stuff, you have to dig, you can't just listen to top 40.

Mostly I just dust off some of what I used to be with, and try to show my kids what REALLY good music was. They look at me like I am from another planet.

I will go to my grave before turning to country music for solace. But that's just a personal choice.
