Default AT&T Users Lovin\' Cable Access Right Now........

It appears that those of us with AT&T broadband are
toast while someone figures out how to transition the service to a new network.....could be hours, could be weeks, and of course no updates available anywhere. Last word was the whole west coast was down.

I hate 56K, but at least I have a B/U connection!

Hey Thanks John, your a life saver. I now have one machine up direct by using the configurator. Now I just have to figure out what it did so I can get my firewall and 2 other machines to work.

Glad there's a game on and it's miserable outside......

I didn't have any problem with the connection. I did not run the configuration program. I did the manual settings because of my home network and VPN software connecting me to my office network. I only had to make one change on the WINS Configuration tab in network properties. Upon rebooting my machine, I received one more e-mail from AT&T Broadband wecoming me to their service.

My only problem I am having is with e-mail. Once I received the above e-mail, I have not received anything else. I tried sending a test message to and from work but I have not received from either e-mail address. Is the e-mail server down? In a previous message or maybe it was on their website, they mentioned that the domain would swith from "home.com" to "attbi.com" or something like that but they would contact us with when that went into effect. The website also mentioned that it could also take from 1-14 days to get everything switched over and that they woudld credit you 2 for 1 for each day of service lost. Are any of you getting e-mail?

E-mail seems to be working now.

I'm up and running too! It's a little slower right now. The change over was simple! Glad AT@T had a plan....I like the speed...Kinda like your boat...can't be fast enough!

My switch seemed to go alright, but email seems to have a bug or two. Sometimes it will send and receive ok, and sometimes it doesn't. I'm sure there will be some bugs to work out within the network. I have a friend in Vancouver who still can't connect at all.

I downloaded and saved the "configurator" file, and can email it to anyone who's having problems and wants to run it again. If you want or need this file, drop me a note and I'll send it to you. (it's only 389kb)
