Default Miss you all .... internet withdrawal

Hi everybody, I haven't forgotten you. I'm here in what my fellow travelers laughingly call 'Hooterville'. No, not dolphin fishing, just real primitive backwoods sawmill country. Like the old TV show with the 'Greenacres' song and Arnold the pig. That's Vanderhoof, BC and I'm pursuing the almighty simoleons ($$).

It's snowing, hasn't stopped since Wednesday, and the temp is hovering between -5 F and -10 F. I almost hit a moose with my rental car yesterday on the way to the mill. But now I've found a limited access point to the net and I can at least read all the stuff that goes on at Ifish. I'll be back in a week or so and I can't wait.

Funny what we take for granted. Like decent coffee, internet access and E-mail everyday. I did get to go fishing this morning and I caught a nice 3lb rainbow off my workmates back deck. He lives on a lake that hasn't frozen over yet. That little fishy was tasty for breakfast. You set your rod outside and watch from inside by the woodstove through the back door.

Well back to work and see you all real soon.

Yeah, what FH said. About the only one out fishing this week is FNF who I occasionally, jokingly, refer to as "FEAR NO WEATHER!"

Yeah being away makes you either appreciate what you have or appreciate what somebody else takes for granted. Oh lordy what I would give or give up to be able to catch trout or any thing off my back deck. A literate person such as yourself would take this opportunity and I am sure you have to catch up some reading out of some book.

Last time I was out of town got to look at someone elses library to find a old book on flyfishing in England written by a Victor ? great story about a guy living to fish and life evolved around that. He grew up fished, went to to Oxford fished, the WWII went on around him he fished and so on. He grew old and had a great life and fished every chance he could. Sound like anyone you know?

I was wondering why I hadn't seen your posts lately, glad to hear you were catching and eating fish.

Hey John,

You are missing some great weather, balmey 67 degrees, sunny and the rivers are all a beautiful shade of green......... limits all around........
Even BOE is catching fish......... OK, I'm full of %#$@, but even lying about it kinda helps as the windows rattle form the wind gusts and the pelting rain sounds like I am downrange at a skeet shooting tourney......... There was a good bity yesterday at the weigh station on Hwy 8..

Hey Pilar pull some of that arctic air down from Canada on your way back. We almost had a valley snow storm this week. Forest Grove did cancel school for the day but none here in Beaverton. Close... I do love the snow though.

How is your schedual for Dec 13,14, and Sat the 15th. The Razors are primed to be reaped again at Long Beach. This time we go deep North though. If interested I also have a Steamer haunt to rake in Willapa.

Later Gator

Hey John.

Don't be too homesick. Good coffee and DSL not withstanding, you arnen't missing squat. It's been windy hard rain storm and after windy hard rain storm here since you left, with maybe 5 hours of peeking through sunshine all cumulatively.

Adrianna (barge Pilar's sister ship) has been needling me to get her hull wet, and gator fever is prodding me, but the wind has been a killer. Today I had to rebuild and replace the tent over her that ended up in my front yard via high wind, lest she become a cold water jacuzzi by the end of the week. Frankly I'd prefer a 3bl trout and a snowball over my head to what we have here anytime.

When you get back we'll take revenge at the punchbowl.

Pilar, Looks like I'm not the only one stuck with working while thingking about fishing. Noticed the weater in Portand is wet. Guess if I had to go out of town to work, I could have been somewhere up North instead of in Vegas. Looks like a good week to be gone. Just hate working when I could be home cleaning out my gutters again. Hope the rivers drop by Friday so I can get out there on the weekend and before I have to go back to working...Keep us filled in on you secret trout spot and maybe a bunch of us could come up for a few days of trout fishing. The thought of fishing with a pot belly stove next to you sounds really comfortable.

The little lake has no name and began to skin over with ice today. In two weeks it will be hard enough to walk on. Ended up just drinking coffee with Kahlua and Grand Marnier in it last night, no fishing. They call that a 'Monte Cristo' here.

I'm doing controls work here in a sawmill. My workmate here saw the fish pictures on my laptop wallpaper and figured I was in need of a fish on.

Life is good. Keep the faith, visit a church near you today.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ... fish on!!

Oh now I've heard it all!

First he gets a top for his boat, now he's fishin' INDOORS and still complaining!

Well Johnboy, I've heard a lot of excuses about missing our annual festivity, but ..."I was fishing indoors by the fire".. takes the cheesecake  And for TROUT! Buddy get back here... Before yer ingrained with that vowled up alphabet... A, ay.. B, ay, c, ayy....

Dude, get back here and lets go rip some lips.
The wife's b-daay is on the 13th but sign me up for the next two days of neck stretchin' action.

If ya spend too muck time up North suckin' down that Monte Cristo juice I'm afraid the Pilar is gonna have a can of "left over parts" and they'll be METRIC!

Drop me a line,

Ray

Well John I'm just plain dissapointed.

Not even a token response :depressed:

Guess I'll go duck hunting and dry the tears from my eyes... Oh, it's raining. That's a relief. There fer a minute I thought I was getting soft

I hear the paint gets to peeling pretty quick over on that North wall early in the morning, quick, go check it out...

I can't take being cooped up any more. I'm taking the kid and going hunting. See ya later,

Ray
