Trying to figure out if I am going to take advantage of a kitchen pass and go fly fishing on the Crooked tomorrow or not. What's your weather like right now? How are the winds?? Snow levels??? Any word on fish reports??

For Maupin folk...any idea what the water temp is below the falls? Steelhead biting?!?

Hey Newlywed!

Isn't a bit early for kitchen passes? Grab your new wife (as in the getting out of the house), and get her fishing. Nothing too intense, in this case fishing is more important than catching. Go on a nice day. Quit early, find a cozy place for dinner. The next thing you know, she'll be wanting to buy a boat!

The steelhead thing is happening east of there, Umatilla, Walla Walla, Tucannon near the Snake, all the eastern stuff. The John Day was very slow last weekend.

I don't know about the Deschutes though. Have a good time.

Had a great day on the Deschutes a week ago. Fished upriver from the falls. Seven hooked, two to the bank. Fished size 2 stonefly nymphs with a pheasant tail trailer
