Re: The Sloppy Science of Global Warming
An interesting article. The additional articles linked at the bottom are equally interesting.

Re: The Sloppy Science of Global Warming
Michael Economides authored this Global Warming article.
And I will admit it is one of the best examples of agenda driven junk science I've seen on this subject.
Economides is a big oil stooge, bought and paid for, anything he backs is good for the oil companies.
Who is Economides you ask? Michael Economides is a Professor of Petroleum Engineering at the University of Houston. He is also co-author of the book The Color of Oil and is interviewed on CNBC fairly regularly. Economides is joining the "oil is going to $100" club.

Can you cite a reliable source for this claim?
Roy Spencer's personal disclosure

Re: The Sloppy Science of Global Warming
In an ideal world, all science would come from unbiased researchers; free from external pressure from special interest groups and individual beliefs in relation to religion, political affiliation, etc. This, however, is not the case. I always take work from scientists funded by corporations with a grain of salt. A scientist that publishes work that contradicts the goals of his employer is going to be sitting on the unemployment line in a second. I used to believe that government funding would cause the least bias in research. Here is a link thats shows quite the contrary: http://www.thenation.com/doc/20040308/kennedy (once again, take this with a grain of salt because the author is a liberal bashing the Bush administration, but it provides several good examples) I'm not even going to get into personal bias as my first example would be the theory of evolution...I don't want to get this booted off the board.

Oh man...the article was written by a SCIENTIST. One who used to work at NASA. One who has published peer-reviewed work in SCIENTIFIC journals.
Check this out regarding Exxon-Mobile. Sheesh!
http://www.weatherquestions.com/Roy-...d-by-Exxon.htm
Here's a excerpt:
As long as the global warming alarmists can convince the public that we skeptics are simply shills for companies like Exxon-Mobil, they do not have to address our scientific arguments. Any claims that there are no peer-reviewed scientific articles that oppose a manmade source of global warming are, quite simply, wrong. In fact, it couldn't be further from the truth: Instead, there are NO scientifc articles which have ruled out NATURAL causes for global warming.

Think again... New York Post article
Andrew C. Revken followed up on that story in the New York Times on Saturday, writing: "A week after NASA's top climate scientist complained that the space agency's public-affairs office was trying to silence his statements on global warming, the agency's administrator, Michael D. Griffin, issued a sharply worded statement yesterday calling for 'scientific openness' throughout the agency.
" 'It is not the job of public-affairs officers,' Dr. Griffin wrote in an e-mail message to the agency's 19,000 employees, 'to alter, filter or adjust engineering or scientific material produced by NASA's technical staff.' "

In that case, I accuse you of being a schill for the Swirly Bulb Corporation. By spreading the "sky is falling" mantra far and wide, sales and profits at the Swirly Bulb Corporation have risen dramatically in the last nine months.
