Poll: What do I do?
The dillema. I have an issue that involves the first bull I ever took with a bow. He currently rests on a wall at my buddies house but he's getting married and he say's it has to be moved for her sake. She must already have his jewels stashed in her jewerly box?
Anyway I am not in a position to bring him home because I'm going to be moving and don't know if I'll have room for my bull at this time. I don't want to be forced to put him on display in an archery shop or restaurant somewhere. He's a great bull, a 300 cascade Rosie. I'm considering putting him on E-bay. It's not that I need the money or anything. I just don't have the room for him.
What would you do?

Re: Poll: What do I do?
DO NOT get rid of him. You would be crazy to do such a thing. If i was you i would do anything it takes. pay for storage? leave him at a family members house? hall closet? corner of garage? I know there must be some way you would not have to get rid of that bull and i would make sure i explore every angle before i had to give him up.

DO NOT get rid of him. That is an awesome trophy that should be in your family for the rest of your life and generations to come. Heck, if it came down to it, I am sure an ifisher could keep it at their house until you can take it. PM me if you would like to do this... I think I might know just the place! JMO
Well, I just voted for the find a home for him answer, but I quickly realized that this response might be forever??? If that is the case, do not do that. Find someone who will keep it at their house until you have room for it and then you can go get it.

You will kick your butt every day for getting rid of the trophy. Don't do it.

You CAN'T put him on Ebay unless you want to go to jail. You could saw the antlers off or split the skull and then sell on ebay but not until then.

Re: Poll: What do I do?
I see no harm in loaning him out to an archery/outdoors shop. There a lot of folks that love to look at bulls like him and it's great for business.
Call me old-fashioned but a nice mount like that is worthy of some dedication. The guy gave his life so that someone could appreciate him. I think it best if you and he remained linked.

I'll hang him in my garage for you if you need to. Whatever you do, don't let it go.

Yep if he was a hunting buddie I think you just lost him . Keep the horns until you move. Trophies are memories they are impossible to replace.

Re: Poll: What do I do?
I think you should just end this debate and give it to me. Then I could come up with an awesome story of how I killed this monster bull with a pair of toenail clippers and carried him back to my truck in one piece. I'm totally joking, do not get rid of him cause if you do you'll regret it for the rest of your life.

Re: Poll: What do I do?
Let go of it. Trophies are for little guys who need to compensate. Take a few pictures, remember the experience and move on.

Why keep a few pictures if you can have the whole thing!!!
Trophies are for the little guys??? A trophy can be a spike buck to someone it depends on what definition is a trophy to you. It could be a doe because of the memory of the hunt. Or maybe you mounted a trophy in honor of someone. I dont think that makes one little. I know when i look at my trophies it is a physical reminder of the hunt, the place, the time, the smells etc. Why not keep that memory if it will put a smile on your face multiple times a day??? I dont think that is compensating for anything.

What in the world are you talking about? Wow I have some animals on my wall so I guess I am trying to compensate? Not to get into it but on a hunting forum where many of us spend lots of funds to hunt these things then want to remember it by putting an animal on the wall maybe you should keep these kinds of post in your head. I hope you where kidding around when you posted this??
Anyways....like others have said keep the thing! Just have a shop or someone display it for a while. If I ever get lucky enough to put one like that on the wall with my bow he will be on my wall till I die!
My 2.

Re: Poll: What do I do?
After many years of being in my garage and moving from place to place I now have my 330+ bull (taken with a rifle) hanging above the door at Sportsman's in Clackamas.
Why not let everyone enjoy looking at him somewhere until you decide you have a good place to put him? ...
I get comments all the time from people that have seen my mount hanging in the store. I think it's kind of cool...

Re: Poll: What do I do?
Whatever you do...DON'T GET RID OF IT!!!
Like previously mentioned, talk to some hunting/sporting goods stores around the area about hanging it up in there. If all else fails, i'm sure someone on here would store it for ya.
Just don't sell that bad boy! You'll be kicking yourself the minute you do...

I was just about to write this very same thought. There are plenty of people who would gladly store him for you until you have the room.
