merc maintenance

I have a 19' alumaweld with a
mercury 90 and 8 kicker. Have had it a year.
Bought it at
Stevens and was told to bring it in for
'100 hour maintenance' on both engines.
I think they wanted a hundred and a half for
maintenance on the big motor and a little less
on the kicker. Can anyone give me their thoughts
on:
1) what exactly a 100 maintenance involves,
2) Stevens shop...work and pricing good ??????
3) If not Stevens, any other places that I could look into

I think the 100 hour service involves replacing all the lubricants and plugs and checking the settings and adjustments. It's a good idea to get it done. Steven's does good work, especially if you spend some time talking to them, asking them about what they're going to do and why and showing that you are concerned. I don't remember what I paid for the work I had done, but it wasn't sky high.

I know this sounds stupid...but if you ask Steven's..they'll tell you what they do.

As for service..I think they do O.K. You should be satisfied, I think.
