Default Kwikfish with rattles

The only kfish I have found on the shelfs are ones with rattles. Does anyone have a preference one over the other? I am hunting for the clear/chartreuse k15, no rattle. Email me if you know where I can find a couple.

I'll bet they don't make a clear body with chartreuse head anymore. At least I haven't seen any in all the areas I fish.

For the rattle, I'm not sure they help or not. I just admire all the pretty colors and choose a plug based on color. I've heard the rattle discussion go both ways.

You might try emailing Luhr Jensen and ask.

I haven't seen a clear/ch. hot head for a long time.

I am wondering if it is a custom color someone had made up.

Jensen will make about any color you can think of if you commit to 72 of them.

As for the rattle debate, it is certainly a 'chevy/ford' argument in my world.

Rogue guides seem adament about no rattles while the Umpqua guys seem to like the rattles... I often wonder if the fish really give a rip!

PS.

As an FYI, factory number 5414 is a rattler while 5413 is not....

As a former production manager at LJ I recall that we dropped the clear bodies from production many years ago, although LJ may still have some in stock and I do see them from time to time still in tackles stores around the NW.

I called LJ and talked to Rhonda. She said I had to buy at least 24. If anybody wants a plug or two let me know. Not sure of the price just yet. Otherwise I'll have a lifetime supply, of course that's unless I can find that snag on the Trask again!

Personally, I don't like the rattles (my own preferance). I couldn't find any of the colors that I like without, so I just took out the drill and put a small hole in the belly of the plug (where I normally wrap my sardine). Make sure the hole is large enough to get the BB's out. Then I take a dab of sealant over the hole.

There are places where I fish for fall nokers that a rattler will catch 3 - 1 over a non ratler. In the river, I think I like the non rattlers much better. Go figure
