Default Spooling Up Spinning Reel for TUNA!

Are TUNA! so line shy that you should not use green Tuff all the way to the riggin (butterfly jig and tuna bites). If not then what would be a good mono choice and what lb. rating?

You'll be losing a lot of jigs and swimbaits if you run your spectra all the way to the lure, possibly a rod, too!
Use at least a 10 foot leader of 20-25 pound Berkley Big Game, Maxima, or other trusted monofilament name. Ten feet is probably the bare minimum, too. I usually create my own topshot of about 50 feet of 25 pound Big Game for my casting reels. If you have a monofilament topshot of your total casting distance, you'll be much less likely to wind up with knotting/tangling issues with your spectra, too.

Maybe the route to go is just spool up with 20 or 25lb.mono. My question to that is, what is the castability of tossing an 1.5 oz rig?

When casting my 50' 'topshot' last year, I didn't find any problems. I was casting a 2.5 to 1 oz jighead, and never experienced any bad backlash problems.
