Busy, sorry if no reply!
I'm on my 5th doctor appointment in 6 days.
Off to Seaside, with a threat of 80 mph winds! Scary! I have to cross over Neakahnie! YIKES!
Anyway, sorry if I haven't answered e mails or tended to problems that need addressing. I have been out of town.
Tomorrow starts a slower period for me, and I promise to catch up!!!
Snowing? I want snow, not wind!!!
Off to face the blowing wind and rain...
Jen

Jennie,
Hang in there. Please drive carefully. Don't hesitate to find shelter if caught in high winds.

Re: Busy, sorry if no reply!
Hi there!
Whaddaday!
Wind! Wheeeeeee!
I made it to Garabaldi, barely! It was awesome and scary all at the same time!
A semi got blown over at hiway 53 and 101 near Nehalem, and there were rocks falling off the slide at Garabaldi.
Semis came at me looking just a bit shaky and not very road worthy! (Like... sideways?)
Finally, when my windshield wiper blew off, I decided to head home. It was really fun, but hey, a little fun at my age goes a long way!
I remember in my early twenties, for kicks, we used to drive to Astoria in high wind storms just to drive back and fourth over the bridge! It was fine entertainment!
These days... I'll stay home and look out the window!
Funny, about 11ish, we saw people walking up the back yard from the river. (This, where we live, is a strange site!)
They had been DRIFTING! Well, sort of!
Drifting and blowing sideways and back up river, and taking on water.
Talk about two soaked and happy to have coffee in their hands strangers!
We invited them in, gave them hot liquids, shuttled them back up to the park to get their rig... (Zip zagging around falling trees!)
By the time we got back their Lavro drift boat had toppled over several times, side over side in the wind... It went about 80 feet from where they had beached it!
Boat kites!
Interesting day! It was nice to help some folks out. Makes a person feel good. They offered money, but the satisfaction that comes from helping is greater than any cash flow!
Plus, they had been through enough hassles!
Jen

Jen
Glad you made it back home safe. BTW weren't your twenties just a few years ago? I remember one fishing trip to the NF Nehalem, we were fishing down in the alders opposite the hatchery side and the wind was thrashing the trees but the fish were biting. We quit when the trees started falling(foolish youth LOL). Looks like it will be more than a couple days before anything fishes. :depressed:
