Question Potential email virus question

OK this has me stumped. Not that it takes much to do that. Here's the situation. A lady in my wife's Mary Kay group regularly sends out emails of which my wife is a recipient. A while ago she started getting duplicate copies and she let her know. The lady says that she doesn't know why it's happening and that nobody else is having that problem. Now as of about 3 days ago we get 4 copies of the same email from her. I'm running the AVG internet security suite and it runs a total system scan every morning. What is stumping me though, is can this be happening on our end? Or is this something that is happening from her computer? I'm betting virus because this lady has been doing this (sending these emails to her group) for quite some time. I just don't have a clue as to where to start with this. I don't want to call her and tell her to check her system when it could possibly be ours still.

A.A.

P.S. - The clock issue is fixed. I went to the update site for windows and had LOTS to update! I had turned off the automatic update feature as it kept wanting to upgrade me to I.E.7 and I want nothing to do with that. Well, I hadn't realized just how long it had been since I had checked for updates.

Default Re: Potential email virus question

It could be happening on your end depending on what email program you are using. The reason why is the server starts with a copy of your email. Then, when you download the email, the email is supposed to be marked as downloaded/deleted. That is an option though because sometimes people want to down load email without removing the server copy.

That shouldn't be happening for only one email account unless your wife is only getting email from "one" account.

You could try saving all the connection information and recreating your wife's email account. That should move everything back to the default.
