Default Lake Merwin

I hope this is the right forum thread to ask about fishing Lake Merwin (Southwest Washington) for Kokanee? When is the fishing good, it's been 10 years since I last fished it. I'M a salmon / steelhead guy but my grandsons want me to take them trout fishing. They don't have alot of patience sitting in a springer hog line so I figured I take a Saturday and spend a day on the lake with them.
Here's what I remember.... April near the dam, fish with flashers and wedding ring spinners with worms or Corn? sound right. I have a good depth finder with GPS, for you veteran Merwin fishermen what's the best bet to get my grandsons into some trout?

Thanks

8salmon,

Some folks have had some luck up there this early or earlier.

But, IMHO, save the gas. They are too small and skinny this time of the year. If you got your heart set then stay shallow. I don't even get tempted to go until late April or May.

Send a PM to "Trolling 4 Trout" and pick his brain for a lake(s) close to home to take the grandsons.
