Default Springer/Sturgeon 2-Day report (Day -3 Added)

Well, Fishing was good but catching was slow...

Fished Friday around the Clatskanie area for springers with good friend & fellow Ifisher Boedy...Also met my good friend the "McNary Maniac" Leo Aka: Luredragger...The day was beautiful over there but the catching was non- existant...So much for the early downriver Springer trip...

Saturday dawned a new day and off Boedy & I went again out to the St. Helens Area for a little combo trip...Boe once again proved solid with another 46" keeper but he kindly relased it to swim another day in order to save punches...

Met "Luredragger" once again & friend Les down the river to do a little anchor fishing but notta snif...Saw 2 fish caught...one right next to us while we were trolling and one by plunkers from the beach...

All in all...great fishing & slow catching...

Boedy with another nice keeper gator...

Luredragger & Les doing what they do best...Better go back to McNary guys till they show up but it was great seeing you guys over here...

Hog Hunter showing off his big keep for the last 2 days...Tomorrow is a new day...

Tomorrow & Monday I will do more of the not the same I hope...Hopefully there will be better results to post...

Good Fishing & Tight Lines

We ran a qwikfish and spinner below Frenchman's from about Noon to Four. Nutin. Way early, but if I am going to stare at a rod, it might as well be fishing for Salmon.

Hey, haven't I seen that guy on Seinfeld?

Hey Terry, back to McNary today. WE hooked 5, landed 4 and had 3 other take downs. Landed a 15, 14, and 2 12 pounders. Weather was really nice, blue sky and sunshine and close to 50 degrees. Lot of fish caught today.

Awesome Stuff Leo... Thats why you are the McNary Maniac... Way to go...

So here is my 3rd days report...Had the pleasure today of sharing the water with good friends Spooled & Hogback for another combo trip...

Got a later start today so the tide had a chance to start flushing in the St. Helens area...

Wow, did I mention it was a beautiful day out there...It's hard to believe we are only 2/3 of the way thru winter because it was feeling allot like spring today...

We efforted sturgeon today more heavily than springers and it paid off as we caught 2 keeper size gators and many shorts...emphasis on many...Finally got out to wet some quickies but notta on the springers...Saw a couple nice ones at the boat ramp however...They are out there for some and tomorrow is a new day given I have the holiday off...Here are the pic's of the day...

Hogback with a released legal of 43"

Hog Hunter with 44" gator

A beautiful view of Mt. St. Helens from one of the many views from the Columbia River...

Troy & Randy...thanks for another fun day...

I was one of the bankers in the Rainer area today. Saw 3 steelies caught, 2 nats and one keeper about 5 pounds, but no salmon. Not as many seals as there were Friday, seemed to help the fishing, I didnt even see a bump on Friday there. Tight lines.

Darn it Terry you let me down bro. I thought for sure I could live vicariously through you today. But not! No springer to report in. Guess I'll just have to show you how it is done this coming Saturday.

Hey, thanks for the report. Looks like you boys had a great time.

Hey Hog hunter

I ran past ya in the channel yesterday looking for larger diamond sides. I had the Burgundy Hardtop Thunderjet.

Just a bunch of skinny fish up higher. We did do pretty good after we passed you. We realesed 5 keepers and what would be a derby winner, a FAT 58'.

Nada on the springers earlier in the morning at SH.

Your'from Aloha also is see.

Hey Jet...

I do remember seeing you out there...Nice boat by the way...

Ya, we could of stayed where we were but we had to go drown some quickies for springers...

I was going to go today but the combo of rain and many chores on this holiday has me motivated to get some work done around here...

I had a great weekend with 3 days of good fishing...I do live in Aloha between TV Hwy & Baseline off of Cornelius Pass...Drop a line and stop by sometime...
