The FEDS are asking how many WATERFOWL I KILLED.

To my suprised, I received a letter from the United States Department of the Interior. Being an election year, I wasn't sure what to expect.
Once opened, I read a nice memo in which I am asked to list my hunt days, location(by county), number of birds harvest, and types of waterfowl in the form of ducks, sea ducks, geese, and brant.

These room for about 14 days, but you can request additional sheets to document your whole season. Unlike some of you seasoned waterfowlers, I only need 1 more page.

For you more seasoned waterfowlers, this may be old news, but I think its kinda of cool to provide this type of data.

I sent 'em a PILE of wings this in for their wing survey. That was fun. I can't wait to here how old they were and so forth, which they say they'll tell me.

I also got a survey similiar to yours Lor, however mine was requesting info on how many coots,mergansiers(or however u spell that) and sea ducks I shot, but since Im not a big fan of coot sausage or sea duck jerky I sent mine in with big zeros across the sheet...if they wanted widgeon or mallard counts that might have been a different story...

I received one from the Canadian Fish and Wildlife Service. I told them that I could only estimate what I got because it has been almost 6 months since I hunted up there. I keep a journal of the hunting I do here at home but have never kept one for Canada. I suggested that they hand out the survey when licenses are purchased if they want good data.

Hey Lor, that means that you have achieved true "hunterdom"..

I got one too and promptly spilled some sort of meat marinade all over it... so It didn't make it through.

I know QH's Paw was in the wing clipper program.

Oh you should have heard him raise hell if we mixed our birds up with his.

He was vigilant about it.
