It could be your firewall, pop-up blocker, or an older version of Java. I can't tell you which is affecting you.

i turned off popup blocker, nothing. i turned off norton, nothing, i had micro soft firewall off, nothing. checked java it is running i think it said java 5.0

Sounds like a Java problem. Might wanna go re-update your version of Java to make sure you're current and fully installed.
I just did a reinstall here and tested and got in fine.
