Does anyone know the proper method of getting hot water from a Yamaha T-8 for a hot water sink? Mine is just hooked to the "pee" outlet and is slightly above freezing.

You have to drill and tap a hole into the thermostat housing, and run a hose from that to your sink/hot box.
The water coming from the tell-tail/pee hole doesn't actually circulate through the engine, so it doesn't get heated. It's just there as an indicator that the pump is working. The water that goes through the power head exits through the prop hub.

I'd check before you do anything, done the wrong way it could potentially void your warranty. There are a couple of ways of doing it. Some of the dealers in the past were removing a zinc annode on the powerhead to get the hot water. Other's were putting a t-connector on one of the hoses and drawing the water from there. I know that Yamaha has stated that removing the annode will void the warranty, even though some dealers sell this as a kit.

it is a simple screw in and retains the anode.
outstanding quality part and makes hot water a snap. cost was $30.
from there i ran tubing out the wiring grommet to a 1/8" pipe needle valve, then more tubing to the sink.
easy, cheap, good!

I have recieved loads of email asking about the Yamaha 9.9 and if my part works with it. Yes it does, at least the 9.9 manufactured in the last 5 years or so. Unlike the T-8 the factory anode is on the front of the block not the top so its a little more difficult to locate but it is the same Yamaha part. Just an FYI.
I posted above, but this thing is great. No problems fitting it to my 2008 Yam 9.9, works great, and washing in warm water is really nice. I used a simple tupperware-type tub for a sink - about 6x8x12", works perfectly cost less than $10.

I got my fitting in the mail on friday. I put a valve on the end of the hose in the Coffee can. It works great should last a life time of fishing...

main engine. Well I was in the parts book on line and the found where the
anodes are on the power heads. under the head covers by the valves.
So with that said. It can not be done.to the main. Bummer...

I am a born and raised Alaskan who is a diehard fisherman/boat addict, and in all my years I have NEVER seen this on ANY boat ANYWHERE here in Alaska. I've spent way too much time rinsing my hands in cold water after baiting my hook or cleaning my catch.

and tapped a port on the main head water jacket. and got hot water
now from my main. I put a Y fitting in the tubing. now I have it from both.
I did have to add to 2 shutoff valves so there was no back flow in to the other engine.
And I actually get more water from the main. It great !!!
