I am Thankful for....
I need to read an upper thread today!
Let's please play along with Jennie.
I can hear it now, (Grumble grumble...)
I am thankful for...
The plentiful salmon season.
My family, safe and sound...
David's involvement in jazz band and basketball.
Andrew's wonderful sense of humor and artistic abilities.
Things as simple as my sheep skin slippers with a puppy chewing on them! Ouch!
Join me, k? We all need a lift!
The people on ifish, my extended family who I share something very important in common with!
Jen

I am very thankful that my Nephew will be home for the Holidays from Basic Training.
Since I was married last Friday to my best friend I am thankful that she likes to fish. After 25 years of being friends I think it was time.

Re: I am Thankful for....
Hmm, what am I thankful for? That is a really long list, so I will shorten it.
-A wonderful woman who loves me very much.
-My family who is always there for support.
-Our country and all it stands for.
-My freedom.
-The opportunity to spend oodles of money for the off chance that I might catch a salmon.
-This BB for helping me along that path.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! See you on the water!!
Paul
P.S. Is it a bad thing to want a stuffed salmon instead of turkey for Thanksgiving?

I am thankful for....
My wife and partner in all things who were it not for, all other things would be meaningless.
A country blessed with brave and generous souls, in which one if free to persue darn near anything.
Friends who have shared life and love over the last 40+ years.
A river that I call home water, little changed in several decades. Home to many of the most beautiful fish God created.
I am especially thankful that this river has been fly fishing only and C&R for many years, the results are a river once threatened, returned to it's former granduer.

Giving Thanks
(Author Unknown)
For the hay and the corn and the wheat that is reaped,
For the labor well done, and the barns that are heaped,
For the sun and the dew and the sweet honeycomb,
For the rose and the song and the harvest brought home --
Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving!
For the trade and the skill and the wealth in our land,
For the cunning and strength of the workingman's hand,
For the good that our artists and poets have taught,
For the friendship that hope and affection have brought --
Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving!
For the homes that with purest affection are blest,
For the season of plenty and well-deserved rest,
For our country extending from sea unto sea;
The land that is known as the "Land of the Free" --
Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving!

Thankful For:
...My health and the health of my wife and family.
...The doctor that found my Grandpa's bad heart valve and did the operation that probably saved his life
...Living in the country where we are free and have so many people to defend her.
...Getting to again salmon fish with my father after many years
...the oppurtunity to help a friend catch his very first salmon.
...Jennie for running an awesome fishing board.
...Fellow Ifishers who answered every question I had no matter how silly they thought it was, and for the wealth of knowledge they share on this board
...My Job that allows me to have all my "TOYS"
...Having great friends
...I am alive...

Re: I am Thankful for....
Thanks to Jen for a simple reminder.
We have so many things to be thankful for. Gosh!
Being AMERICAN BY GOD. Having the right to be free, to have a vote. Being able to buy a fishing and hunting license, and even own a gun. Being able to own your own business, and communicate ideas and dreams without fear of being executed.
To be able to sit down and enjoy a wonderful meal with family and friends, is something many other people in the world can only dream about.
A special blessing to all for a safe and loving holiday.

My son and daughter.
A great shared-parenting with their mom (Lisa), which is kind of like being married without the romance. :depressed:
The Ifish family and the opportunity to fish with and learn from many of you.
. . . and other stuff too.

Re: I am Thankful for....
Thankful for the sky above...
The ground under my feet...
The wind, the rain....
The water in the rivers, in the oceans...
The animals on the land, the fish in the water, the birds in the sky...
The air that I breathe...
The family that I love and that loves me...
The food on my table...
The roof over my head...
All my friends (whether I know them or not)...
This great country....
And all that it stands for. I am thankful.

Re: I am Thankful for....
I'm thankfull:
For the water and the trees
and the sky above.
For the kiss and the touch
of a womens love.
For the laugh and the hugs
of the kids nearby.
For the without them,
I would surely cry.
For the life and home
that we've built together.
For the trials and the hopes
that we'll share forever.
For the times of wisdom
that I'm able to see,
the very things....
that God gave me.

Re: I am Thankful for....
I am forever thankful for the three f's (Family, Friends, and Fishing)along with the many other blessings that God has bestowed upon me. I thought I would share an e-mail I received this morning.
A prelude to Thanksgiving....
If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep... you are richer than 75% of this world.
If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace...you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.
If you woke up this morning with good health you are more fortunate than the million who will not survive this week.
If you have never experienced the danger of battle unfolding all around you, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation...you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.
If you can attend a church meeting without fear of persecution, harassment, arrest, torture, or death...you are more blessed than three billion people in the world.
If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you, and furthermore, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.
Have a good day, count your blessings, and pass this along to remind others how much we really have to be thankful for. Be blessed,

Re: I am Thankful for....
Aside from being thankful for family, fiends, fishing and many of the others things mentioned above, I think at this moment I am most thankful for Pepto Bismol. I need a big hit of the pink stuff now because I ate way too much. Hope everyone else has had a wonderful Turkey Day.
