I had a 303, it was too long for me but I just had the stock cut down. I was Death with that gun. I still kick myself for trading it.

I dont know the differences. But i will tell you what i like about the 302.

The action is fast very fast. It is a better made action than the berettas of today.
My dad had his gun for over 30 years and rarely cleaned it. Took it apart once a year at best. They are absolute work horses.
His stock was too big for him but he cut it down and it fit like a glove.

My uncle had a 301 essentially the same gun but a little heavier. My other uncle had a 303 and it was the same gun as a 302 for the most part he beat that gun to death.

Also look at Browning B80.
It's a Beretta (A30x)with a Browning skin.
I had an early model (steel receiver) and it was a shooter.
Came with a 28" modified and I aquired a Beretta 26" skeet later.

I had a 20ga 301 3"mag; I bought a 3" choke tube Bbl. 24"(for grouse) I like my Benelli it's easier to clean. Alum. recev'r.; so mine was Light. Browning autos nearly the same are out there. They're pretty good.

thanks guys..... I have run across a 301 and a 390 for a decent price....the 301 comes with another full barrel which I thought would be great for shooting slugs and I dont mean the ones that crawl on the ground..LOL... One of the places I can hunt dear and elk is slug only.
