Default Metal Head Mayhem (Day 11 Chromers)

Here is todays report...This is day 11 of 13...

Hooked 12, landed 4, 2 chromers brought to the house...

Jigs under bobber & drift fishing took them all...

Fished with Hogback & NWSteelheader...Another excellent day of hooking fish and a poorer day landing fish

I finally hooked a couple on jigs and landed one of them...What a hoot to see the bobber take a violent plunge...If you have never tried this...give it a go because it is a very different way to steelhead fish...

Randy & Shawn...great company as usuall...See whoever on the river tomorrow...I will be fishing with Junior Hog Hunter & his friend...

A happy "HogHunter" starting the year off on a good note

The Take of the day...

4 for 12? What's up with that Terry? You must be slipping.

River Ranger...

Yes, I do work but I have had 2 weeks off for the holidays...

I go back on Monday and will be looking forward to the rest...

11 fishing days out of 13 is bordering insanity as many say but when you are addicted to a drug then you just got to have more and I figure I have one vice or drug in my life and it is fishing...

In addition, figuring my son has been gone for 6 months as well and has just returned from the National Guard Youth Challenge, I figure there have been more than half the days spent with him doing this...so this has been great quality time.

Rusty,

Talk to Shawn & Randy about that one

I was 2 for 2 when I handed my last one off to Shawn so I really feel I did my part to enhance the % but Randy & Shawn had a bad case of crackeritis

However, I will say Randy has put a major hurtin on me as far as hooking fish the last 2 times out...He is the one responsible for making me a jig fishing addict now

I love jig's. But I do seem to loose a few more fish on them, must be my old age.

Boedy, 20 to 25 MPH for 20 or so miles... I have driven it allot the last 2 weeks and if you just take your time and have a 4WD it is all good...Coming back has been no issue except for a little packed snow at the summit...

John "Fishing Magician", it was great meeting you today as well...I remember we met at Jims out in Banks during the Fall...Hope the day was good to you...

Rusty, you should have seen what happened to Randy on a jig 2 days ago...He had one on and was bringing it in on its approach to the net and the fish said Bye-Bye...low & behold it had a hook that was straightened out as he was thumbing it twords the net...You would have figured his 8# line would have busted first but Nooooooo......

Guess what kind of hook it was It was an Owner on a "First Cast" jig....pretty amazing...

Hog-
Try offsetting the hookpoints a bit on your jigs for a better percentage. Kind of like a normal hook for bait is offset.
