Default Corneal transplant?

Does anyone know of anyone who has had one?

That's my next up surgery... or the one after another one, anyway.

So? I'm interested. It sounds like no fun, but then my cornea doc, Dr. Mathers has some new technology that makes it easier, I guess.

If anyone has had one, or knows of someone, could you pm me?

Jen

Big bro had both eyes done, first in 1979 and the other a few of years later. Other than taking a tennis ball in one eye shortly after his first surgery he's done well. I remember the second surgery was a lot easier than the first one. He's close to the point where the injured eye will need another, but he's not in any hurry. I would guess with the vast improvement in technology that the surgery is greatly improved.

Oh yeah, thanks to the families who allowed their loved one's cornea's to be harvested. Please know that my entire family has donor cards. I've told my daughter that if she sends me to the other side with one usuable part I'm coming back to haunt her.

Jennie, Mom had one a couple of years ago at 84. She had virtually no problem at all and sees just fine with it. I yours will be as successful. Don

Had a cousin that exprienced that a few years ago! saw him right after the procedure, while the patches were still over his eye, and he was pretty anxious about the end result! Saw him more recently and he said it was a breeze! He was fishin` and flogging the water to a froth along with the rest of us, and it didn`t seem to be any different from the old days! Didn`t go in to it with him in depth, but from what I heard from him, it was not bad at all! Wish ya all the luck! And we`ll all be prayin` fer ya! Ff.
