Re: PAC 10 could soon be PAC 9
Look at it this way, its finally over and baseball is getting rolling. Hope we can find a coach in the off season.
From ESPN...
Quote:
But it was no contest against the Beavers.
The beating was slightly less than the 36-point drubbing Arizona administered in Corvallis. The Beavers narrowly avoided breaking the tournament record for largest loss, which was set by Oregon State in a 32- point defeat against UCLA in 2006.
Arizona set a tournament record for most points in a half, leading 59-21 at the break. That bettered the old mark of 58 UCLA scored against the Wildcats in the 1987 tournament.
"Doesn't matter who you're playing, that was a great half of basketball," O'Neill said. "Defensively, we were really solid. We played the second half about even."
They led all the way, racing to leads of 23-4 and 40-12. The Wildcats shot over 70 percent from both the floor and 3-point range while holding Oregon State to 27 percent from the field in first 20 minutes.

They are taking the heat in the Barometer. Well, at least next year they can only improve.
Maybe it should be Pac 9 but first OSU needs a coach.

On the bright side, it can't get much worse, right? We'll bounce back, case in point, look across the street from Gill. When I was watching Pettibone punt on 3rd down in order to gain field position in the mid-90's, I never thought we would have the stadium and program we have now.
GO BEAVS!!!!!

Sure the Beavs suck right now, but the bright side is that basketball is the one major sport that can actually be turned around in a very short amount of time. With the right hire ( ) and a good recruiting class, they could be competitive in just a year.
The Black and Orange faithful are keeping their fingers crossed and hoping to hear good news from the AD's office very soon.

Seems like the OSU basketball program has been in a slide ever since the reigns were turned over from Ralph Miller to Jimmy Anderson?

No Pac 10 wins will not help the recruiting. I hear Bobby Knight is looking for a job. Now we are talking some fun..

Come om Weston be nice, they're still the 2 time CWS champs. Besides just because they forgot how to play ball after Gary left 17 years ago doesn't mean we have to rub it in, most of those years we stood eye to eye with them in the standings. But I digress, GO COUGS!

Re: PAC 10 could soon be PAC 9
Who else in the Pac-10 had a record setting season? Nobody will remember that in 2008 UCLA and Stanford did pretty well, they will remember that OSU was horrible. Granted, we will be remembered for a downright embarrassing season, but that will all change next year when we have Bobby Knight motivating players with his brilliant antics!
Go Beavs!
