So if I'm reading this right, Coho fishing on the central coast is flat out not an option this year...?

Thanks for this John.

At least one thing is confusing - the 2nd and 3rd geographical categories overlap. The 3rd mentions coho quota. So is that 3rd category really meant to be - specific to coho? You can't have (at the same time) option 3 for category 2, and any of the options for category 3, unless only one is for coho.

Those are some pretty bleak numbers there BM. For the CR region I don't understand why they would want to open it so early with such a poor run. Why not open it up in August only for ocean salmon? Having it open all of July just seems foolish to me. And it looks like they better only have it open 3 or 4 days a week to prolong the season. Dismal forecast after such a great run last season. Hope the tuna come in close!

skahorse,
No. Coho exists with all options. With option #3 it would be the only fishing open.

Mark,
Option #3 would be Coho only. Option #1 & #2 Chinook would open and close with Coho

Huh?
I read it closed for coho...are those just chinook options?
will coho seasons tuck in between June 15 and Sept. 1?

Sorry, as Mark pointed out, I was slightly confused...

I saw Falcon to Humbug, and assumed Area 3 was Humbug to OR/CA border.

So the Falcon to Humbug sections pertains to only Chinook? And the Falcon to OR/CA border pertains only to Coho?

I like that second pic Walt. The caption should read, "In order to keep your chinook in good condition, make sure you change his fluids regularly."

Hey, here's an idea, they build one of those ocean salmon farms off the mouth of the CR! You pay $50 a boat per run to troll through the pen! No limits!

The sport comes in crossing the bar, braving the elements. The fish are guaranteed because the free ocean salmon have all been killed by gillnetters, dams, whatever!

It's called the future! What a sad one though. You'd think we could prevent the extinction of this valuable species.
