New Ride
After nearly five years of looking at boats up and down the west coast my #1 fishing partner (wife) and I finally found the boat we both wanted. It was quite an experience for the two of us to fly to North Carolina to make a boat deal as neither of us had ever been anywhere near the east coast. Benjamin Meggs of Bluewater Yacht Brokers was very helpful. Our sea trial was on the Atlantic; the first time we had ever seen it. We were also able to tour the True World Marine factory and were impressed with the quality of work. Of interest to others may be the statement of the marine surveyor that boats on the east coast are selling for 20% less than on the west coast.

Re: New Ride
My father in law bought his 38' back there about 15 years ago, saved about $40K in 1993 dollars vs west coast boat. Cost him $3000 to ship it back here. A new boat to you, a ride in the Atlantic, nicely done!
What did the airline charge to bring back that souvenir?

Re: New Ride
Great looking boat, lots of luck with it. Now you can prove to all your friends the best days in a boat owners life is when he is using it.

How about some details? We want details! Length, equipment, manufacturer, model, trailer, I/O or outboards. Salty minds need to know.

Re: New Ride
Those Trueworld's are sweet rigs. Their factory is at the same marina as my uncle moors his boat. Did you get the yanmar rig?

Re: New Ride
Details--She is a 2004 True World Marine TE288. 315 hp Yanmar diesel hooked to a Mercruiser Bravo 3 outdrive with a Aqua Drive. Length is 28' and width 9'3". Came with a Furuno radar and a Garmin 2010C plotter/ depth finder. Am going to install a Furuno 585 as well as a Furuno GP1850 that I have as well as a ComNav autopilot. Renamed the COPOUT TWO she will be moored at Charleston. To the best of my knowledge there is only one other like her on the west coast; a charter boat at Moss Landing, California (Reel Thing Sportfishing). We looked at this boat prior to flying to Wilmington. A friend headed back to N. Carolina as soon as the deal was made and towed the boat back for us. After lots of searching for "the boat" we feel greatly blessed.

Re: New Ride
Congratulations! The only problem is that the boat blends in with other white boats. In past years, when fishing was slow, I could look for the yellow Copout and get into your area to take advantage of you finding the fish.

Re: New Ride
Been waiting for you to post your new ride on here. Thumbnail you sent me was way too small, got a lot better look at this picture. Like was said before, need some red splashed across the deck for decorations. Now you just need the on the water action shots.
