That's very cool. I've always wanted to get a rare animal on one of my cams. Too bad they didn't have the camera set to video mode.

Key paragraph from the article.

"The discovery could affect land-use decisions if the wolverine is declared an endangered species -- a step the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is considering."

Go bongo beating hippies!!!

Did those ever exist? I mean bongos were for beatniks. I don't recall them ever being associated with "hippies". I'll have to go look back through all my pictures to see if I ever played bongos.

Wolverines are native to Oregon, I recall one getting shot near Three Fingered Jack in the early 60's.

Did you notice she found the critter in NORTHERN CALIFORNIA????

There is not much left land or anything else to grab in that state. Just keep the bugger out of Oregon... no more illigals...

Let those Wolverines return to their own state and take control of the issues there.... that's what I say. Perhaps we could support them with sort of covert actiivities... But by God they need to work out there own issues back where they came from.

Nice Beamerfish!

I thought wolverines have been in Oregon for a long time. There is (or at least was) a sign warning about wolverines on the North Umpqua.

Those are both true statements, but one has nothing to do with the other, except that the ESA has been missued in many occasions to Lock up public land and take away access and usages. Wolverines are a pretty cool animal, I have seen several in Alaska and on the Alcan over the years.

If we'd take care of the land for the long term, we wouldn't need an ESA.

Lock-ups? Funny, I've been across Oregon and into many places most people don't ever see and I've never found any public lands off-limits to access due to the ESA. I have found plenty of places on public lands where I didn't want to go because of the human animals turning the place into a dump.

It's all about taking care of what we've inherited.
