Don't know about the one in Newburg but as a last result, try Ollie Damons in Portland. I think they are still in business. Use to have parts for many of the old reels.

alwyze fishin-

The gentleman is Mike Osborne, an independent rod & reel repairman and highly recommended.

You can call him at 503-538-7093 or visit the shop he runs out os his home at 3608 Aquarius Blvd (just off Springbrook Rd.) in Newberg.

He's not only a competent tech, but a nice guy. Say 'howdy' for me ....

I've taken numerous reels to to Mike in Newburg and he's done a great job. Ollie Damon is great too. Tough call, guess it depends on where you live.

My 2 cents.

gotta jump in here ........ I too, have done a lot of business at Ollie Damons and unfortuantely, there are'nt a lot of places to take gear for repair etc. And yes, they usually get the job done and done right (did I say usually). However, I truly feel that they know the same thing.... they have a "monopoly" and you better not forget your visa.

It sounds like Ollie Damons might not be the closest to you, so hopefully you can find the person you're looking for. If you can't, I can also vouch for Ollie Damons because I've been using them since I used to take my Mitchell 300 down there on my Schwinn Sting Ray when I was a kid, back in the old days when they were on Hawthorne. IMO cost isn't an issue when you've got a good reel you want fixed right to last you for the long haul.

Good luck.
